The Museum at Dumbarton Oaks is fully accessible to people who use mobility aids.
In keeping with its topography and historic design, the hillside Gardens present several challenges to visitors who use mobility aids, including steep inclines, slippery surfaces, loose gravel walkways, staircases, and other impediments.

In keeping with its topography and historic design, the hillside Gardens present several challenges to visitors who use mobility aids, including steep inclines, slippery surfaces, loose gravel walkways, staircases, and other impediments. Visitors with disabilities are encouraged to visit our website prior to arrival, and may prefer to Visit Virtually, where they can take virtual garden tour and learn more about each section of our Gardens.
Both The de la Cruz Art Gallery and the Lucille M. and Richard F.X. Spagnuolo Art Gallery are located in Georgetown’s Edmund A. Walsh building. De la Cruz is accessible through both the Walsh lobby on 36th street, as well as a separate entrance on Prospect Street. Spagnuolo can be entered directly through the Walsh lobby.

Limited 2-hour parking in Georgetown. We advise walking, uber/lyft, or taking some form of public transportation.
The de la Cruz Art Gallery is wheelchair accessible via the 3535 Prospect St. NW entrance. The Spagnuolo Gallery is wheelchair accessible via the 1221 36th St. NW entrance. Accessible parking spaces are available in the University’s Southwest Garage. For accessible route information, please refer to the University’s Accessible Routes map.
ASL interpretation is available for all public programs on request. Please contact guartgalleries@georgetown.edu at least two weeks in advance.
2-hour street parking available though limited in Georgetown. Walk, bike, taxi, Uber/Lyft always smart.
Chair lift available at east entrance. One step up to get in the building. Restrooms on lower level.
Service dogs and friendly dogs welcome.
All facilities are fully accessible.
Parking is free on weekends, or metered ($2 per hour) on weekdays until 5 p.m. A free American University Shuttle is available from the Metro Red Line at Tenleytown-AU station.
